What the F!?!? — Freedom, Flower, and some Falling stories

BISHOP BRODERICK Pabillo from the National Secretariat for Social Action, Justice, and Peace Chair of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) challenged President Benigno Aquino III (PNoy) to push for the passage of the “Freedom of Information Bill” on Thursday, 22 September 2011.

He reiterated that rampant corruption involving the unliquidated cash advances made by the previous president may have been prevented by the bill. “All citizens should have such a right [to access public documents]. The fight against corruption is not just his fight. It’s also the citizens’ fight. But the citizens can’t do it without tools. A freedom of information law is their tool,” the bishop said on an Inquirer interview.

There are unverified leaks that Pabillo was asked if Church documents would also become available to the public should the bill be passed. The bishop allegedly responded, “It is clearly written in our constitution that the separation of the Church and State should be inviolable!” To which the reporters walked out. ‘Nuff said.

Mary “Rosebud” Ong, Antinarcotics civilian agent turned state witness against former Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Panfilo Lacson appeals for the government, thru Justice Secretary Leila de Lima, to reinstate her under the “Witness Protection Program” (WPP) as she fears from alleged threats against her life.

She has until 1 October 2011, after which she will be released from the custody of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) after its Intelligence Service division assessed that there exists no threats against her anymore.

There are unconfirmed reports that Rosebud and the president were seen together on a cosy restaurant in Makati. Reporters were not shocked after hearing the president crack another hint on his lovelife, “Kung dati sinabi kong Coke ang aking lovelife dahil Zero; ngayon eh para na siyang Palmolive shampoo [Before, I said my lovelife is like Coke because it’s Zero; now it’s like Palmolive Shampoo], it has 100% natural rose petal extracts!” Back-off, Iza Calzado!

Some Falling stories

The 6.5-ton satellite Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite (UARS) travelled over the Indian Ocean and Africa before splashing onto a remote section of the Pacific Ocean, the American-based agency NASA officials confirmed on 25 September 2011. The satellite, which has been “uncontrolled” for 32 years, appeared to have crashed onto the wide ocean but the precise spot may never be pinpointed. Reports say that there is 1 out of 3,200 chances that a person can get hit by falling debris. “NASA is not aware of any reports of injury or property damage,” officials released in a statement. There is however a surfacing report through an anonymous informant that former First Gentleman Miguel “Mike” Arroyo would not be able to further attend Senate hearings regarding the Philippine National Police (PNP) helicopter scandal. According to the source, “He was fishing on a remote area of the Pacific until an accident occured.” Alam na!

Valenzuela City Councilor and ex-girlfriend of President Noynoy Aquino (PNoy), Shalani Soledad, is now engaged with Pasig City Representative Roman Romulo. Fallen in love Romulo, 44, said he and his fiancé, 31, are planning to tie down the knot early 2012. “Some may say it is too soon, but I think we’re both old enough to know what we want in life,” Romulo said, adding that he had found “the one,” in an interview with Inquirer. Soledad is PNoy’s girlfriend for a little over a year, breaking up after the hectic schedule of the President which made the relationship difficult to maintain. When sought for his reaction, there has been a circulating reports where he said, “Keribels lang!”
